Election of Board Members & Annual Meeting

Hello CWSC Members!  Happy Labor Day Weekend!
Our annual Board of Directors election is under way!
Ballots are available at the pool and may be submitted before the official close of the season at the end of the day on Monday. There will also be an opportunity to vote in person at the Annual Meeting on September 9th. We have 3 available spots to fill and only 2 slated candidates at this time. Feel free to add write-in candidates as well, as we hope to fill all 3 spots! Any write-in candidates will be asked to consent to the position before the election results are finalized. Let us know if you have any questions!
On behalf of the current Board of Directors, thank you for your support and for being members of CWSC!

Please note: Our Annual Meeting, open to all members, will be held at the pool on Monday, September 9th at 6:00 p.m.

Pam Burk

Please tell us about yourself*

I am married to Tom, have 2 adult children, and 4 grandchildren. My family joined 25+ years ago when our children were pre-teens. I have continued to be a member since they graduated from college. I retired from state government and most recently, SIU School of Medicine and now have the time to volunteer at my favorite summer hang-out.

Name of applicant *

How long have you been a member at CW*

My family has been a member for 25+ years

Why would you like to be on the board?*

Having many years of summer experiences at Colony West, I would like to be involved in making its future bright for many years to come. My experiences and viewpoint will hopefully contribute to being an effective member of the board. I would like to have some input guaranteeing its future as a fun, wonderful safe place for swimming enjoyment by all ages.

Strengths I can bring to the board*

Being a long-time member, I can share my experiences with visiting the pool as a family and individual member. I have served as a member of a private elementary school board, forming of and being an officer of a neighborhood association board, budget and planning experience, a team manager, member of several planning committees and 2 state-wide task forces. I now have the time to devote to volunteering.

Anything else you would like to share*

I always look forward to spending my summers at the pool and have made many friends through the years. When home visiting, my daughter’s family always looks forward to swimming at CW. In fact, that is where she met her husband, former guard and manager, Chris Boucher.

Why would you like to be on the board?*

I wish to keep the traditions of the pool that have been passed down through the years, while also seeking ways to improve where possible. It is my goal to allow CWSC to be viewed as the best pool club for families in Springfield/Central IL.

Strengths I can bring to the board*

Tech savvy, lots of ideas, project management, contractor connections, dose of new parent perspective.
